The rural community of Green Bottom in Sandy Bay was jolted Monday evening by the bizarre murder of a disabled teenage girl who was savagely stabbed while her stepmother reportedly slept in an adjoining room of their Clarendon home. Shelly-Ann Williams, 17, who has Down syndrome, was discovered, lying face down in a pool of blood, by her father, Howard Williams, and stepmother Shelly-Ann Allen after her dad returned home from work and queried about her whereabouts. A visibly shaken Allen said that she last heard the teenager laughing in her room while speaking with her father on the phone earlier in the evening. ....

The Clarendon Police say they are yet to identify persons of interest in relation to the murder of 17-year-old Shelly-Ann Williams in Green Bottom, Sandy Bay.
SSP Miller told Radio Jamaica News Wednesday morning that the police are awaiting the results of a post mortem to determine if the teenager, who had Down Syndrome, was sexually assaulted.
Her stepmother, Shelly-Ann Allen, said she did not know anything was amiss until she was awakened by the teenager s father when he returned home about 9:45 Monday night.
Miss Allen said during a search of the five bedroom house, blood was seen on the kitchen door and the teen found naked and lying face down with multiple stabs wounds to her back. ....
