ALBION — The Noble County got out its figurative scissors, trimming $600,000 from the 2024 budgets presented during hearings this week with department heads.
ALBION — Most Noble County governmental department heads have got the process down: stick to the advertised increase when preparing next year’s budget.
(1) Swine flu shots slated at EN School October 17, cancelled.
(2) 104 years young, the New Era continues to run its own printing presses.
(3) Roush walks a lot, but heâs out of step with Noble County voters.
(4) Fall colors abound in area woodlands.
(5) Cougars lead grid league, down Howe 49-6.
(6) Carter too glib in debates: Ford solid.
Dedication of the Albion Park was slated for Sunday, Oct. 17, at the town park on East Main Street. The tentative program included special music, dedication speech by state Rep. Roe; presentation of Bicentennial momentos to Historical Society, presentation of Bicentennial funds to Park Board. Following the program there was going to be a large âHappy Birthday, U.S.A.â birthday cake baked and decorated by Mrs. Joyce Leatherman.
ALBION â On a day when the Albion Rotary Club announced a back-to-normal meeting schedule, it chose to honor someone in the community who does so much more than normal.
Albion Rotarian Joy LeCount introduced Jason Brown, 43, as the clubâs Citizen of the Year during Thursdayâs luncheon gathering at the Albion Pizza Depot.
âI was surprised,â Brown said. âI was shocked. It feels awesome.â
LeCount had invited Brown to speak at Thursdayâs meeting under the guise of a program involving Brownâs work with the Indiana Deaf Camp. Brown and LeCount did do that program â and it was a big reason LeCount said Brown was deserving of the honor.
