We re joined now by cnn terrorism analyst paul cruickshank. paul, people are saying this man appears to have acted alone. he wanted an isis flag, no one knows if there s any direct link between this man who calls himself sheik haron and isis. but is this a new model? where there doesn t need to be a direct connection between a person and isis itself where people only need to be inspired to commit terror? that s right, john. all the indications is this is a loan wolf attack. that he was inspired by isis. he wanted to do this to retaliate for u.s. and italian air strikes against isis in iraq and syria. in a recent posting he talks about the australians and the americans as terrorists so that appears to be the motivation here. it s a new model for isis. the isis spokesman back in september called for lon wolf attacks in the west in a fatwa. ....
