Two road closures are planned today.
In Hamburg Township, Shehan Road will be completely closed to thru-traffic between McGregor and Pleasant View Drive between 6am and 9pm. The Livingston County Road Commission advises that crews will be replacing pavement that was removed from earlier culvert installation. Local traffic will have access and signs advising of the closure are in place.
In Tyrone Township, White Lake Road between Hartland Road and Jewell Lake Court will be completely closed to thru traffic. The Livingston County Road Commission advises that crews will be replacing a drain crossing under White Lake Road. That closure is estimated to be in effect from 8am to 4pm. Again, local traffic will have access and signs are up advising of the closure.

A paving project that had been set to begin on a busy road in Hamburg Township today has been postponed due to low temperatures and possible snow in the forecast this week.
A roughly 1.5-mile stretch of Chilson Road will be resurfaced from the intersection of Swarthout Road, north to the township line â which is just south of the railroad tracks near the Brighton State Recreation area. Itâs approximately 3/8 of a mile north of Bishop Lake Road by the MDNRâs Smokey the Bear sign. The work was originally set to begin Monday morning, but according to the Livingston County Road Commission, that has been delayed due to unseasonably cold weather in the forecast this week, including the possibility of snow on Tuesday.

The construction season is getting going in Hamburg Township and a project that starts next week is expected to result in major delays for motorists.
A pavement rehabilitation and shoulder paving project is scheduled to begin around 7am Monday on Chilson Road, between Swarthout Road and the Hamburg Township line. Crews will mill the existing surface and then place two new courses of asphalt. The Livingston County Road Commission advises that two-way traffic will be maintained through flag control and those traveling in the area should prepare for major delays during the course of construction. The work is expected to take about a week and be completed by Saturday, April 24th.
