Residents escape without injury in Bethel Park house fire

No one was injured in an early-morning fire in Bethel Park on Monday, according to fire authorities.
Emergency crews were called shortly after 3:30 a.m. to a home in the 700 block of McMurray Road.
Crews found smoke billowing from the two-story home but were able to knock the fire down quickly. All of the residents escaped, authorities said.
An initial investigation showed the fire started near the fireplace/chimney, and fire officials took the opportunity to remind property owners to have fireplaces inspected every year. ....

Pursuit ends with drug overdose

A Washington C.H. man is in custody following a high-speed pursuit Friday that began with a reported stolen vehicle and ended with the suspect jumping out of the vehicle and being treated for a drug overdose.
Corey M. Keeton, 27, is being held in the Fayette County Jail on felony charges of fleeing and eluding, possession of drugs, tampering with evidence, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, receiving stolen property, as well as several misdemeanors and warrants for his arrest.
While on patrol in the early morning hours Friday, Washington Court House Police Department Patrolman Jason Copas observed a small red SUV which matched the description of a stolen vehicle pull into the Marathon gas station on Columbus Avenue. As Copas drove past the gas station in an attempt to verify if this was the stolen vehicle, the suspect vehicle pulled up in front of ....
