Brereton III, South Surry Road, pleaded no contest to failure to file income tax and was fined $500 ($450 of the fine will be held in abeyance as long as he complies with the terms of his non-reporting unsupervised probation). He filed returns for tax years 2014 through 2016 and is ordered to make payments as agreed for 2009 through 2011 and 2014 and 2016. An additional charge of return and payment of income tax was dismissed with prejudice, after the defendant stipulated to probable cause and will pay associated costs.
