Gearing up for heavy rain and or snow. Good afternoon. Im adam sexton. Parts of the North Country could see around six inches of snow, while other areas may see some much needed rain during this drought. Lets send it right over to meteorologist Kevin Skarupa. Kevin nothing falling quite yet, especially at lower elevations. Most the returns back to the west just cold enough for snowfall but bumping into milder air for the afternoon. Afternoon in southwestern areas of the state as the moisture continues to move it. Southwest winds will take the warmer air over the ocean and change that over to rainfall. I will be the main mode of precipitation for the southern half of the state. Some of that will be beneficial rain. Notice the dry air as this gets bumped into. A lot of this will be eaten away.
