good evening. great to have you with us. we do begin with breaking news from the midwest where fierce new storms have moved in across the region. chicago is reeling from thunderstorms that have turned day into night there. the darkened kye right there over the windy city. the ominous clouds then bringing this. this coming into our newsroom pounding hail being reported a short time ago. we re told the burst of hail lasting just a couple of minutes. this storm at the edge of a brutal heat wave, 20 states with heat warnings and advisories and take a look at some of the highs coming in. columbia, 106, philadelphia, 96. memphis, 100. it has been especially hot for workers outside. this man installing cables in georgia and this little boy cooling himself off in raleigh, north carolina. the weekend s death toll from heat rising to at least 14 now and nearly 2 million people are still without power. so we turn tonight to abc s extreme weather team, meteorologist ginger zee lead ....
