MSM index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,649.12 points, down 0.30 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.47 per cent at 530.373 points. Galfar Engineering, up 4.00 per cent, was the top gainer, while National Bank of Oman, down 6.02%, was the top loser. Shares of National Bank of Oman was the most active in terms of number of shares traded and Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 509 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating turnover of OMR1.665 million, with more than 9.9 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 9 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign Investors were net buyers for OMR30,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR28,000 followed by local investors for OMR1,000 worth of shares. ....
