Emajane J. Townsend, 81, died peacefully Friday April 19, at her home in Brainerd, Minnesota. Jane was born February 23, 1943 in Muscatine, Iowa to Delmar and Roberta Miller. Jane was the child of a career Army serviceman. The family was stationed in Germany for 10 years. There she met and married the love of her life, a handsome Army Paratrooper and MP, Gordon Townsend. Jane had a passion for history, politics and travel. She hiked the Grand Canyon, walked barefoot on a California beach, took a European River Cruise, went on multiple excursions with her friends and sat around numerous campfires laughing, telling stories, and toasting marshmallows. She was game for any adventure. She was spunky, spoke her mind and had a soft spot for the underdog. Those who dared to diss her Vikings or an Iowa team felt her wrath. Jane adored her children, and treasured her grandchildren. She had so much pride in her family. Her friends were family to her and she had many. Jane is survived by her child
