MORE than 20 groups in St Helens have received funding from Jack s sales of carrier bags this Christmas. Charities directly supporting the St Helens community have been invited to apply to the Jack’s Supports scheme to receive some well-deserved funding. Jack’s Supermarket, on Four Acre Lane, part of the Tesco family, launched its Jack’s Supports scheme to donate proceeds from the sale of carrier bags to local good causes. Normally, four local charities are shortlisted and receive a £250 donation. But after such a difficult year, Jack’s has decided that no charity will miss out and is offering even more support by donating £400 to every charity that applied. This includes 68 community groups local to its 12 stores, which is worth over £27,000 in donations! ....
