this morning, the january 6th house committee issuing more than 100 subpoenas for phone records. members are casting a wide net, many of those are targeted at former trump officials and associates and the list does include former white house chief of staff mark meadows who just informed the committee he will no longer cooperate. but committee members say meadows already turned over volumes of phone and email records including messages that were sent and received during the capitol riot. joining me now from the committee is california democratic congressman pete aguilar, the vice chair of the house democratic caucus. thank you for joining us this morning. the subpoenas for phone records from 100 people, what are you looking for? well, this started in august when we sent preservation letters and requests to telecom companies asking them to preserve the records of a lot of individuals. as the investigation has transpired, we have sharpened our focus. and highlighted individual

study. did it work? what did they find? well, again, i want to say again, it is early, these are small studies, i think in some ways this was proof of concept, but look at some of the findings here. gamma waves, the shorter, high energy waves that were stimulating the front part of the brain, they found that that actually did improve overall longer term sort of memory. they were giving people lists of words, people were able to remember the earliest words better when they stimulated the longer term memory stores. the fadeaways, saw that in purple, those are the shorter term memory improvements. and, again, significant memory improvements in this small group of people. they tested 20 people, and the gamma group, and 20 people in the other group and they did a sham group as well, basically put the skullcap on but did not deliver electricity and they found that that did not have an improvement. it was clearly this electrical current that was making a difference. not invasive
intense debates inside the white house, tons of pressure from groups. there s three key elements here. the details are very important. there are income caps to actually qualify for this loan cancellation. if you are an individual who makes under $125,000 a year or a family that makes under $250,000 a year and you have federal loans, the president is going to basically sign the ability to cancel $10,000 of those loans. there s another element that s important. $20,000 could be canceled for any pell grant recipients with federal loans. that s incredibly important as the administration has worked continuously over the course of the last several months to target this relief and target this cancellation towards lower and middle income individuals. the administration officials believe roughly almost all of pell grant recipients make $60,000 or less. they would all qualify. when you look at the loan cancellation, it would affect about 43 million borrowers if they took advantage of w
