Gun that killed Easton woman belonged to her, police say

The gun was legally bought and legally owned, Lt. Matthew Gerould said Thursday afternoon.
About 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 600 block of Canal Park, authorities said. They initially found a 63-year-old woman with a leg wound, caused by a round that went through a wall into her living room, authorities said.
They next went to the adjacent apartment and, after forcing their way through the locked door, found Jackson, 34, just inside, dead from 10 gunshot wounds, authorities said.
They then located David Javon Hall, who had shot himself and was dead on the kitchen floor with a IWI Jericho II handgun nearby. There were 11 spent shell casings, along with bullet fragments and unspent ammunition in the apartment, authorities said. ....

The 42-year-old Easton man who the Northampton County district attorney says shot and killed a 34-year-old woman late Tuesday night in a South Side apartment had been required to take anger management training after a 2017 guilty plea in a 2016 assault case, records show.
David Javon Hall, then living in Bath, was involved in a domestic violence incident on Oct. 1, 2016, with a different victim that involved fighting and damage to property, records and an assistant district attorney said.
Colonial Regional police were first called late in the night of Sept. 30, 2016, for an argument between Hall and his then girlfriend, but she told the officer it was only a verbal situation, not physical, court papers say. The two went out for a drink and to eat, and the argument resumed when they returned home to the 200 block of East Main Street, police said. ....

The Northampton County court administrator since 2014 began his career in 2000 at the government complex in Easton as a probation officer. He advanced in that structure, eventually supervising sex offenders for four years before becoming the director of the juvenile probation center from 2005-14. Now he oversees both operations along with several others, managing upward of 400 people.
He knows sometimes people do bad things after they do what is required of them when it comes to probation.

David Javon Hall, 42, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Lysek said.
Hall, whose family members said was living with Shakeeyah Jackson in the ground-floor apartment in the 600 block of Canal Park, was found dead in the kitchen, near a 9mm handgun, Lysek said.
Jackson died after being shot and her death was ruled a homicide, Lysek said. She was found near the front door to the apartment, court papers say.
Children ages 5 and 7 were in Jackson and Hall’s apartment but were not physically injured, Houck said. They are being cared for by family members, police said. ....
