THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Despite the first phase of Covid vaccination drive ending on February 15, district health authorities are struggling to register beneficiaries on the Co-WIN app due to technical glitches. Private clinics and hospitals in the state cry foul about the registration process; say they have been kept in the dark
The District Medical Office (DMO) has sought an extension from the state government for the completion of the first phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive. As per the initial data collected by district health authorities, there are around 55,000 frontline workers in the district eligible for vaccination.
Till Tuesday, only 22,000 healthcare workers were vaccinated. According to officials, technical glitches on the Co-WIN the Covid vaccine delivery management system are obstructing the registration process of healthcare workers, especially those in the private sector. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Giving much-needed impetus to the  district’s development, the state government announces the setting up of an industrial corridor as part of the Capital City Regional Development Programme.Putting an end to allegations of neglect towards the state capital, Finance Minister Thomas Issac allocates D100 crore as seed fund for the Capital City Development Company 
The neglect faced by the capital city from the part of the government has been a talking point for a while now. But, with this year’s budget, the state seems to have given a real push to developmental activities in the district. The budget has allocated `100 crore for the Capital City Development Company that aims to develop the growth corridor which will revolutionise the landscape of Thiruvananthapuram.The project proposes the construction of a 78km six-lane road from Vizhinjam to Navayikulam, which runs along the eastern side of the city.  ....

Capital district all set for vaccination drive

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The state government is all set to launch phase I of Covid-19 vaccination on Saturday which would cover around 3.3 lakh healthcare workers across Kerala. As per the registered list, there are approximately 55,000 health workers eligible for the first phase in Thiruvananthapuram district. According to district health authorities, preparations have been completed in all 11 vaccination centres in the capital. On day one, the authorities are expecting to vaccinate around 1,100 healthcare workers. 
District Medical Officer K S Shinu told TNIE that the vaccines would arrive in the district by Wednesday evening. “The district will be getting 1.34 lakhs vaccine vails. The vaccines would be stored in the regional warehouse here, which will also be housing vails allotted for other districts including Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha. They would be transported to other districts and centres the day after tomorrow,” said Shinu.  Acco ....
