PATNA: India Meteorological Department (IMD), Patna on Monday alerted Bihar government on impact of Cyclone Yaas in the state. In a letter to chief secretary, Patna meteorological centre alerted the state government about thunderstorm, rainfall, intense lightning along with gusty winds from May 27 to 30.
Rainfall is likely to start in the northern parts of the state under the influence of cyclone Yaas from Tuesday and it is expected to intensify into widespread rainfall across the state on Wednesday and Thursday. Patna meteorological centre has issued yellow- colored warning for thunderstorm with lightning across the state along with gusty winds 40- 50 kmph on Wednesday and Thursday.
