Top Story April 29, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) on Wednesday demanded constitution of a judicial commission on allegations levelled by ex-director general of FIA Bashir Memon against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shahzad Akbar and Law Minister Farogh Nasim. The PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, while talking to newsmen here, said the judicial commission should inquire as to how conspiracies were hatched against Justice Faez Isa from the Prime Minister House, a fake reference was field against him and attempt was made to destroy his career. The PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz said that people have come to know that what are Sicilian mafias, saying even heads of gangs have gone to such an extreme. “This is issue of people of Pakistan because of such political engineering, they are suffering due to inefficiency of Imran Khan’s government,” she said, adding the opponents were chosen for purpose of victimisation. ....
Top Story April 28, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Accountability Shahzad Akbar has rejected former FIA chief Bashir Memon’s claim about being called to a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and told to make a case against Justice Qazi Isa. The adviser termed the claim “slander”, and directed his lawyers to initiate action against Memon. Memon made the claim while speaking in geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath. Responding to Memon’s claim Shahzad Akbar tweeted: “Just seen absolute rubbish uttered by Bashir Memon on Shahzeb show. He was never called for any meeting with PM or myself on QFI (Qazi Faez Isa) issue, and there was no meeting with law minister and him as he claims. Similarly he was never told to start any case against any specific individual. Only case referred to FIA was of sedition by the fed cabinet. I have instructed lawyers in personal capacity to initiate legal action for his slander.” ....

According to the notice dated April 28, Memon had appeared on a show called “Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Saath” aired on Geo Television on Tuesday night where he passed completely untrue and libelous defamatory statements accusing the premier’s adviser of pressurizing him (Memon) to file a case against a judge of the Supreme Court. ....
National April 15, 2021 LAHORE: PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah has said the NAB has transformed into an avenger from an investigative body. Talking to media after the bail of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif here Wednesday, Rana Sanaullah said Prime Minister Imran Khan and PM’s Adviser on Accountability and Interior Shahzad Akbar were controlling the NAB. He said so far NAB has failed to prove corruption of a single rupee against Shahbaz. He said when oppression and injustice grow out of control then they disappear. He said we got justice though it was delayed so even then, we were thankful to the courts. “If there is no judiciary, then there is chaos in the society,” he added. ....
