Islamabad continues to see downward trend in positivity ratio - Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: While the positivity graph has further declined in the federal capital, 290 more people were found infected and two patients succumbed to the deadly virus on Sunday.
Moreover, the District Health Office has decided to open a mass vaccination centre at F-9 Park after the Eid holidays which will cater to 6,000 to 9,000 people daily.
According to documents available with Dawn, the weekly positivity graph in Islamabad remained 7.78 per cent compared to 9.24pc in the previous week and 10pc in the last week of April. The positivity rate had reached 11.28pc in the first week of April after which it gradually started declining. ....

Three isolation centres set up in Islamabad for expats returning home - Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The capital administration has set up three centres to isolate expatriates coming to Pakistan in case they test positive of Covid-19.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Islamabad (East) Babar Sahib Din told
Dawn that the three quarantine facilities had been set up one each at OGDCL building, Marriott and Redison hotels. The isolation facility is available free of cost at the OGDCL and on the subsidised rate of Rs3,000 to Rs9,000 per day at Marriott and Redison.
It is up to the expatriate to avail of the government free of cost facility or stay at any of the two hotels, he said, adding Margalla Hotel and a guest house at F-7 had also been selected as a backup facilities and would be utilied, if needed. ....

ISLAMABAD: The district administration has expressed hope that the Covid-19 situation in the capital will improve following deployment of the armed forces for enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs). The administration also urged people to avoid Eid shopping as well as travelling during their holidays, asking them to spend the festival in the capital itself.
On the other hand, Islamabad saw a drop in the single day count of Covid-19 cases with 368 people getting infected. However, the weekly positivity ratio went up further. Rawalpindi meanwhile, reported six casualties and 137 new patients. ....

No let-up in Covid-19 cases in twin cities - Newspaper


Four casualties were reported in Rawalpindi.
During the last 24 hours, 5,344 tests were conducted in the capital which found virus in 549 people and the positivity was 10.2pc whereas on Wednesday 375 cases were reported in the city against 4,388 tests with an 8.5pc positivity rate.
According to officials of the district administration, the number of hospitals treating Covid-19 patients has also increased. The administration has asked hospitals to increase the number of beds and ventilators as so far, there are 836 beds allocated to virus patients at 16 hospitals and 119 ventilators at 13 hospitals.
The occupancy rate of beds is 64.5pc whereas the occupancy rate of ventilators in the capital is 57.1pc. ....
