United Hospital observes World Health Day
On 7 April, World Health Day is celebrated around the world. This year the theme is Building a Fairer, Healthier World by World Health Organization (WHO).
Like every year, this year United Hospital also observed World Health Day in befitting manner with the slogan of Live Healthy to Stay Healthy .
Mohammad Faizur Rahman, managing director and chief executive officer of United Hospital spoke on the Health Day occasion. He emphasized on the importance of maintaining a healthy life through early health screening and preventive measures. He also said that, Covid-19 has changed people s lives including change in eating habits and hygiene. People now realize that good health is the real wealth. So we have to live a healthy life.

United Hospital organizes patient forum with kidney patients on the occasion of World Kidney Day
On the occasion of World Kidney Day on 11th March, the United Hospital Renal Care Center organized a patient forum with kidney patients entitled Staying Well with Kidney Disease .
The event was attended by kidney patients and other members of their families, who shared the story of their well-maintained lifestyle. About 40,000 people are infected with kidney disease in the country every year. Kidney disease is a silent killer and people over the age of forty are at higher risk of kidney disease.
Umme Salma, a kidney transplant patient, shared the role of her mother in the fight against kidney disease. My mother is a hero, she said. My mother saved my life with her kidney. Doctors were supportive and gave her the courage to have a kidney transplant. For those who are afraid to donate, she recommended consulting a doctor. Salma said, I am fortunate that my transplant was done in the
Ekushey Padak awarded film personality Syed Salahuddin Zaki attended the event. Later on, United Hospital felicitated him.
Moinuddin Hasan Rashid, chairperson and managing director of United Group, and Mohammad Faizur Rahman, managing director and CEO of United Hospital, presented Zaki with flowers and gifts.
They also lauded Zaki s contribution and commitment towards the film industry.
Dr Shagufa Anwar, director of communication and business development of United Hospital, delivered the welcome address.
Zaki mentioned his regular treatment at United Hospital. In his speech, he praised the medical experience and thanked all officers and staff, including doctors and nurses.
Foreign nationals working in Bangladesh, other directors and senior officials of the hospital, and consultants, doctors and nurses were also present on the occasion.
