Heating oil and gas prices are down from this time last year.
You can expect to pay about $150 less for 200 gallons of heating oil from a winter ago. Itâs part of a pandemic marketplace where fewer people are traveling and the price of crude oil is lower than in 2019.
Missy Sunday, manager of Shaffer Oil in Somerset and Windber, said prices are at nearly $1.97 a gallon. Last year the price was about $2.67 a gallon.
âWe were a lot busier in the spring,â Sunday said. She said prices were low then, and people may have used stimulus money to fill their tanks early.
