Photo: Kristy Kolberg Update GEORGE NEWS - The cross-examination of accused number two in the Hlompho Mohapi (25) murder trial, Siphoshile Pamba (26), continued in the George Circuit High Court this week. During her testimony that started last Wednesday, 12 May, Pamba spoke of severe physical abuse since 2017 and adultery during her relationship with accused number one, her husband Melisiswe Monqo (33). According to Pamba he forced her to take out no less than 12 fraudulent life and funeral policies during 2017 and 2018. ....

Update GEORGE NEWS - As the murder trial of Hlompho Mohapi (Koloi) is slowly drawing to a close, one of the state s last witnesses started his testimony on Tuesday 23 February. As more damning evidence was heard, the testimony of the detective, Sgt Thembekile Matwa, resembled a brutal, nearly fictitious, murder mystery. Matwa s involvement with the case started on 6 July 2018, a day after Mohapi s body was found next to the road leading to the Voëlklip viewpoint in Herold s Bay. On 7 July the first suspect, Phumlani Quesheka (31), was arrested in Knysna. During his testimony the court heard how he tracked down Quesheka by pinning the cellphone he was using - the same cellphone that was stolen from the deceased on the day of her death. ....
