Changes to testing and care homes as we all learn to live safely with coronavirus | Welsh Government

A timetable for changes to Wales’ Test Trace Protect service was yesterday published as part of wider plans to gradually move beyond the emergency response to the pandemic.

ID cards for young carers launched in North Wales

AN ID CARD that shows young carers carry important responsibilities has been rolled out in Wales. It is hoped the form of identification, launched by the Welsh Government in response to calls from young carers themselves, will give recognition and provide a quick way to inform teachers and health professionals of the extra duties they have. Official figures show there are around 7,000 young carers in Wales, however the number could be as much as four times this. They are usually responsible for caring for a parent or a sibling, whether ill or disabled. There will be a phased roll-out of the national ID card, with all local authorities in Wales providing their card by April next year. Following their launch on Young Carers Action Day on Tuesday, March 16, North Wales local authorities are working with Carers Trust Wales as part of plans to raise awareness of the scheme.
