What good that was going to do, i dont know, but that was the way you would defend yourself. But we really didnt have much concern about a conflict, korea started happening while i was in Junior High School and i had actually pretty much had ended by then, i had some teachers that served in korea who were also instilled in us a Great Respect for the freedoms that we have.
