Lagos Police Dismiss Officer for Allegedly Shooting Lover

The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed and prosecuted one Sgt Eze Aiwansoba attached to the Special Protection Unit, Base 16, Ikeja, for firing and attempting to kill his lady friend, Miss. Joy Ndubueze.
A statement from the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noted that the incident happened on October 8, 2020, at Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja of Lagos State.
“The incident was referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Lagos State Police Command for investigation where it was revealed that the ex-policeman has a case to answer,” it added.
The statement quoted the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, as ordering the orderly room trial of the suspect where he was found guilty and recommended for dismissal. ....

The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed and prosecuted Sergeant Eze Aiwansoba, attached to the Special Protection Unit (SPU), Base 16, Ikeja, for firing and attempting to kill his girlfriend, Joy Ndubueze, on October 8, 2020, at Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The incident was referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Lagos State Police Command for investigation where it was revealed that the ex-policeman had a case to answer.

The officer disappeared after the incident until he was arrested weeks later when his brother, a police inspector, handed him over to the Lagos State Police Command.
The command announced on Monday, April 12, 2021 that Aiwansoba was dismissed from the Force after facing an orderly room trial which found him guilty on February 2.
The state s Directorate of Public Prosecution also recommended that the suspect should be charged to court for attempted murder.
The command said the former officer was arraigned before the Magistrate Court, Yaba on February 9, and the case is still on. ....
