ISLAMABAD: The United Nations has cautioned staff of all its agencies worldwide not to travel by any Pakistan-registered airline, including the national flag carrier, because of concerns over the allegedly dubious flying licences of its pilots. The shocking claim about dubious licenses, since dialed back, was made by the country’s then aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan on the floor of the National Assembly in July last year.
An advisory issued by the UN Security Management System (UNSMS), a copy of which is available with The News, states: “Due to an ongoing investigation of the CAA [Civil Aviation Authority] Pakistan…due to dubious licenses caution is advised on the use of Pakistan-registered air operators.” ....

ISLAMABAD: The United Nations has cautioned staff of all its agencies across the world against using any Pakistan-registered airline, including the national flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), due to concerns about the dubious flying licences of its pilots.
The news about fake licenses of PIA pilots was revealed by the country’s aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan on the floor of the National Assembly last year in July.
An advisory issued by the UN Security Management System (UNSMS), stated: “Due to an ongoing investigation of the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) Pakistan…due to dubious licenses caution is advised on the use of Pakistan-registered air operators.” ....

UN advises its staff to avoid travelling on Pakistan-registered airlines
The United Nations has cautioned its staff across the globe to avoid travelling on Pakistan-registered airlines, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), over the alleged dubious licenses of their pilots.
As per the advisory issued by the UN Security Management System (UNSMS), individuals have been asked to avoid using Pakistan-registered airlines as the credibility of pilot licenses is not yet clear.

Due to an ongoing investigation of the CAA [Civil Aviation Authority] Pakistan…due to dubious licenses caution is advised on the use of Pakistan-registered air operators,” the advisory read.
The advisory has been issued for all Pakistan-registered carriers and has been recommended to all the UN agencies. ....
