PLUS has announced the temporary partial closure of the Seremban Utara toll plaza till July 22. According to the North South Highway operator, this is under orders from the police.
The reason behind the toll plaza part closure is the declaration of enhanced movement control order (EMCO) for the Seremban district for two weeks starting July 9. The EMCO covers eight mukim di Seremban, which are Ampangan, Labu, Lenggeng, Pantai, Rantau, Rasah, Seremban and Setul.
There are a couple of blocks at the Seremban/Labu interchange. The ramp from Bukit Kepayang to the highway heading to KL has been closed. Traffic will be diverted to a U-turn ahead and will enter the highway via the ramp on the opposite side, where there will be a roadblock. Another roadblock has been set up for traffic coming in from KL.
KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The public will once again face roadblocks set up by the police, as was implemented on March 18 last year, following the implementation of the movement control order which begins at 12.01 am (Jan 13).
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said roadblocks this time would be more stringent, with police personnel assisted by members of the armed forces to ensure compliance. Roadblocks will return as before, and now, they will be in all areas, including those under the recovery movement control order and the conditional movement control order. Although the MAF (Malaysian Armed Forces) has similar powers to the police (to impose roadblocks if necessary) under the new emergency ordinance, but we (MAF) have agreed that we will only help, said Ismail Sabri, who is also Defence Minister.
