According to reports, the accident specifically involved trains 81 and 40 on the Kelana Jaya line. Train 81 left the KLCC station and was ferrying 213 passengers, while an empty train 40 (save for one operator) left the Kampung Baru station and was on its way for scheduled maintenance.
