Reelection this last time, he announced that he has parkinsons disease. Johnny isakson has legislated, as has been mentioned, with his heart. When we worked on skin cancer, he talked about his skin cancer. When we worked on an opioids response act, he talked about his familys loss because of an opioids overdose. And hes not been afraid to stick his neck out. There was a time during the atlanta olympics when one of the county commissions passed a resolution saying gays arent welcome at the olympics. Members of the Senate Family today and many of us have lost a dear friend. We are brokenhearted at the news former senator hagan passed away at the age of6. 66. I spoke to her husband a few hours ago and i told him from the moment i first met kay hagan a new shoe special. She remained that way every day since. She was an amazing force , never allow that only strong. D, and a kindhearted person to tell me he and k just had a wonderful weekend of dinner , wedding and surrounded by friends and famil family. She got to spend some time with joe biden who was in town and ship said she was beaming. I take some comfort in knowing that. In fact it reminded me how she lived her life. She was never one to let sometimes painful realities of politics get her down.
