Noles Set to Host Four Teams for Seminole Volleyball Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State volleyball team (2-1) is set to play four games this weekend at the Seminole Volleyball Invitational. The Noles will face Florida A&M (0-3) on Wednesday at 6 p.m., James Madison (3-0) on Thursday at 6 p.m., Yale (0-0) on Saturday at noon and Austin Peay (1-2) on Saturday at 5 p.m. All games will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra with Shawn Davison (Play-by-Play), former Seminole coach Cecile Renaud (Color) and Alex DeCapua (Sideline) on the call. The Noles are coming off a 2-1 showing at the Tribute to #10 tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Seminoles defeated Illinois State and Dayton in four sets while dropping the final match of the tournament to Cincinnati in four sets. The Noles will be facing three opponents for the first time this week in James Madison, Yale and Austin Peay. The Noles will meet the Florida A&M Rattlers for the 28th time on Wednesday night. Noles Suffer First Loss to Bearcats

The Florida State volleyball team (2-1) dropped its first match of the season Sunday afternoon to the Cincinnati Bearcats (1-2) in four sets (24-26, 23-25, 25-9, 23-25) at the Fifth Third Arena. Today was a disappointing loss for us. We had too many errors at the net that gave them some free points. It was a good first weekend, but we will need to clean some things up moving forward, Head Coach Chris Poole said. In set one, the Seminoles trailed early, but used a 7-1 run to take a 22-19 lead. The Bearcats responded with a run of their own to take the first set.  Audrey Rothman was strong for the Noles with five kills in the first set while Emma Clothier added three kills. The second saw the Bearcats get out to another hot start in set two to build an eight-point lead. Down to set point, the Noles battled off five set points to cut lead to one, but the Bearcats were able to get the final point to put the Noles away.
