Trio Of Seminoles Named To 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s Charlotte Heath, Lottie Woad, and Frederik Kjettrup have been named to the International Team for the 27th Annual Arnold Palmer Cup matches at the Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa., June 8-10, 2023.  The Ryder Cup-style competition features men’s and women’s collegiate golfers from the United States versus their International counterparts. Heath and Woad, who both played in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in March of 2023, will make their first career appearances in the Palmer Cup.  Kjettrup is making his second consecutive appearance in the Palmer Cup.  The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and began in 1997. FSU Alums Castren And Stupples In Solhiem Cup

TOLEDO, Ohio (seminoles.com) – It took former Florida State All-American Matilda Castren all of five tournaments to earn her first collegiate victory. She carded a 10 under par 206 to capture medalist honors at the Florida State Match Up. Castren gained her second win as a Seminole just three events later in winning the individual title at the Marsh Landing Intercollegiate. Castren won a school-record seven individual titles during her career at Florida State (2014-17) before earning her tour card and beginning her professional career on the Symetra Tour. She earned her first win on the Symetra Tour in 2020. Then came the summer of 2021. Castren captured her first LPGA win, the Mediheal Championship, in just her 15th tour start. In winning in San Francisco, she became the first player from Finland to win an LPGA event. Shortly after her first LPGA victory, she traveled home to Finland in search of a victory on the Ladies European Tour. A victory there would make her eligible for LET ....
