She inspires people because of the work being done by the nonprofit she started in the east bay with her late husband, carlos. He started a bank in peru, which has been an enthusiastic supporter of vida for years. A deadly illness prompted the birth of the charity. The infrastructure was already there after the epidemic ended, so haydee and her team built it into a lifesaving powerhouse that ships containers full of surplus medical equipment and supplies to peru and helps millions of other people in at least a dozen other la
