Teen appears in court in connection with killing of 16-year-old

The second of the three people arrested in connection with the killing of a 16-year-old in Sioux Falls appeared before a Minnehaha County judge on Wednesday.
Ali Khalifa Ahmed, 16, pleaded not guilty to first degree murder, first and second degree attempted murder and attempted robbery during his arraignment at the Minnehaha County Courthouse. Ahmed appeared via video call from the county’s juvenile detention center. An Arabic-language interpreter and seven members of Ahmed’s family, including his parents, were present in the courtroom.
Ahmed’s bond was set at $500,000 cash-only, and Judge Jon Sogn ordered that he have no contact with Sembel Andom Sale, 18, Devon Montileaux, 17, and a third person who was present that night but hasn t been charged. Police say Montileaux fired the bullet that killed 16-year-old Ephraim Duolo Shulue on Dec. 9 in Sioux ....
