The countdown is well and truly on to Christmas – with news that Wexford Winterland Festival is once again set to bring the magic of Christmas to Wexford town this festive season sure to bring joy and magic by the sleigh load!
Maintaining a long-held tradition, Wexford’s finest young boxers received their Jem Roche medals following a special ceremony in the Bullring. Awarded to all of the county’s underage All-Ireland boxing champions, the Jem Roche medal is named in honour of the legendary heavyweight boxer from Wexford who fought for a world title in 1908.
The history and landscape of Hook Head, early life in Enniscorthy Castle, and a spoken word competition for teenagers are just some of the many events taking place in Co Wexford for Culture Night 2023. This year’s celebration of local culture takes place this coming Friday (September 22) and will feature a series of free events in all of the county’s five districts.
Wexford’s Art in the Open festival finished on a high note with a spectacular exhibition and an announcement of the winners in Green Acres Gallery during the August bank holiday weekend.
