Kolkata: The centenary celebration of prestigious Viswa Bharati University is mired in a fresh controversy as Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, was seen missing from the event on Thursday. The event was, however, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State Governor Jagdeep Dhankar. The Chief Minister said that she was never invited, never received any invitation and also dismissed claims made by BJP that the invite was sent by the University. She regretted the cultural event was made into a BJP event.
