Landing a ‘big fish’
When YouTuber Sebin Cyriac got a call from Rahul Gandhi’s office last week confirming that he has been chosen to accompany the Gandhi scion on a deep-sea fishing trip during his Kerala visit, Cyriac was surprised.
Though Gandhi’s office had informed him about such a trip a couple of times, it somehow did not happen due to various reasons. But this time around, he was told to get ready along with his crew for the trip and reach Kollam by 4am on February 24.

Rahul Gandhi’s adventure at sea off the Thangassery harbour in Kollam district of Kerala, is winning the Internet, the highlight being his jumping into the sea with fishermen.
And basking in the moment is Kerala-based vlogger, Sebin Cyriac, who shot the video for his YouTube channel, Fishing Freaks. The video clocked over 10 lakh views within 24 hours of uploading it. “I am still in a state of disbelief. It hasn’t sunk in yet,” says Sebin.

“It’s my cameraman’s number that I have given on my Facebook page. Otherwise people keep calling to meet me in person!” says Abdul Sami, 34, with a laugh. The Guntur-native is getting used to attention after he started a fishing channel, Abdul Sami Fishing, one-and-a-half years ago. With over 1.5 lakh subscribers, it is now a source of income as well for Sami.
