Three KCII area boys and girls golf teams met at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort Thursday in a non-conference triangular when Mid-Prairie, Highland and Lone Tree squared off. In the boys competition, Mid-Prairie won the team title with a score of 179, their lowest recorded team score on the season. The Golden Hawks had the meet medalist and medalist runner-up with Dominic McCain shooting a 40 and Warren Scarff a 44. Those two spoke after the meet about their day. “First hole I drew my ball over to the left side of the fairway. From there I was able to wedge it up there within about 20 feet on the second tier of the green. I was able to hit the putt, dead center of the cup. I have never trusted my putter more than I have on that shot.” “For me, I wouldn’t say there wasn’t one specific shot or hole, I played pretty decent all the way around today. I pared one and two and eight. I had a double bogey in there, and the rest were bogeys so it worked out.” ....
