The Winfield Township Planning Commission during a nearly three-hour meeting last Monday worked on fine-tuning a new solar energy ordinance to replace the one that failed in a voter referendum last summer. The five-member Planning Commission made multiple changes in multiple split votes to the draft ordinance which was created by the township’s law firm Bloom Sluggett.
The Crystal Township Board approved around $207,000 worth of local road projects and improvements during a special meeting on March 22; however, the township will only have to pay an estimated $146,470 thanks to some matching funds from the Road Commission for Montcalm County.
