i think it s helping stop it. they know they re not going to be eligible for sports. reporter: random drug tests, rite of passage for olympians, professionals and now even america s youngest athletes. i m julie foudy, in marian, ohio. it isn t just there. there are school districts in at least nine states that require drug testing for middle schoolers. i just can t hold back on this one. i tend not to like to give my opinions as a journalist but this is ridiculous. on the scrapbook club, the glee club, you need a drug test. i don t get it. it is ridiculous. how would you feel about your child? i would be completely offended. drug testing is the one thing in this country you are guilty until you are proven innocent. that s not how it works here. you re not until proven guilty. if you re operating a plane, a nuclear power facility, maybe some prerecollect sit, but give me a break. maybe the athletes if they re testing for performance enhancing drugs. but testing basketball ....
