It looks like Scrabble is about to get a little more boring. According to a recent report, Mattel is about to get rid of certain “offensive” words from the UK version of the game, with plans to expand it worldwide in the future.
According to “The Scottish Sun” the in-progress list of soon-to-be scrubbed words reaches about 400, and includes such fun words as “boobies,” “arses,” “wrinklies,” “boffing,” “farting” and “fatso.”
“In Scrabble as in life the words we choose matter,” a Mattel exec insisted, with Brett Smitheram, a rep for the Association of British Scrabble Players, confirming to The “New York Post” that words are “being compiled for deletion.” ....
