Police have confirmed seven suspects have been killed in a shootout in Scottsville in Pietermaritzburg. Crime intelligence officials acted on information received about a notorious gang believed to have been terrorising the community of Plessislaer. It s understood suspected members of the gang were using a vacant home in the suburb as a hideout. KZN police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says police officers and members of a local security company raided the house at around 14h30. When they were approaching the house they were shot at.
