Michaela Chesin, Banner Staff PROVINCETOWN – At one point many years ago, the town-owned almshouse on Alden Street required a large parking lot, and so did a bank at the corner of Commercial and Winthrop streets. Today, though, in this notoriously compact town, those parking lots have become divorced from their original uses and are now part of a rising trend in private parking spaces. This week, a private parking space behind the old bank is on the market for $89,000. Another private space at the former almshouse and also the former council on aging and public works building is priced at $79,000. ....
