Some of the best high school sports talent North Carolina has to offer gathered in downtown Raleigh on Saturday evening for the HighSchoolOT Honors awards show presented by Two Men And a Truck and D1 Sports Holly Springs.
Jason Norton, athletic director at Pine Forest High School and winner of the 2020 Stuart Scott Courage Award at HighSchoolOT Honors, died on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer.
Nominations were accepted for dozens of categories throughout the school year. Our committee narrowed the nominees down to five finalists in each category, then winners of the awards were decided by more than 40,000 votes.

Raleigh, N.C. The 2020-2021 school year was anything but normal. Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, the sports schedules were changed, seasons were shortened, and athletics were disrupted.
HighSchoolOT Honors presented by Crabtree aims to recognize all that is good in high school sports though.
On Thursday evening, winners of 37 different awards were named 36 of them voted on by the public, and a Lifetime Achievement Award winner selected by the HighSchoolOT staff.
Public nominations were accepted throughout the school year. At the end of the year, the HighSchoolOT staff narrowed the nominees down to five finalists in each category. Then, over the course of a few weeks, the public was allowed to vote for the winners.
