I feel we’ve talked enough policy and given plenty of reason’s “why.” Now is time for positive experiences and thank you’s. Campaigning for Mayor of Lima has been a humbling experience. I have received overwhelming support from people I have known all my life and from people I have never met. All of them are searching for a better Lima for themselves and their families.
Over the past three months, we have added to our team. From my dedicated campaign team, to friends of friends, to people reaching out on social media, we’ve grown. As I’ve always experienced from the Lima community – they give support and encouragement through everything.
Lima’s Summer Playground program returns for 2021
LIMA Lima’s Summer Playground program will be back with in-person groups for children ages 6 to 12 this summer. The program took 2020 off due to coronavirus concerns.
Programs will be held at Faurot Park, Robb Park and Lincoln Park from June 7-July 30, with 60 participants allowed at each site. The only difference from past programs is participants won’t go to Schoonover Pool on Fridays, since the pool will remain closed. Lunch and T-shirts will be provided.
Registration will begin May 8. There are still openings for young adults to help with the program. For more information, call 419-221-5195.
Hardesty touts pro-growth agenda

LIMA Elizabeth Hardesty on Thursday unveiled a pro-growth platform in her campaign for Lima mayor, describing herself as a change candidate focused on growing employment, investment and home ownership within the city limits.
Hardesty, a Lima native and the only registered Republican in the four-way race, has traveled the world while working in the oil and gas industry. But she said she’s always come back to Lima.
“I’ve watched this community become stagnant,” Hardesty said during a campaign kickoff event at the Allen County Museum. “Our population strength and the energy of many disappeared, because they feel their government isn’t behind them.”
