“The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future.” Theodore Roosevelt The Fairfield County Heritage Association, which assists in preserving the architecture and legacy of our community, was born of the passion of seven local women in 1962. And while much has changed in the intervening decades, its mission to engage residents of all ages in meaningful discourse around local history remains constant. Operating both the Georgian and Sherman House Museums, the Heritage Association breathes new life into local tradition, hosting teas, re-enactments, tours, and much more – raising funds and awareness, simultaneously. But, though some residents may be familiar with the work of the Heritage Association, far fewer understand the extent to which the association relies on volunteers to achieve its vision. ....
