A Louisiana school bus driver is now out of a job, after she was caught on camera making racially insensitive comments about George Floyd to an 11-year-old student on her bus.
The comment was reported to the school system last week by Rose Gabriel, who initially learned of the incident after her son Rashad, who is Black, informed her last week that his white bus driver said something racist to him, according to 4WWL.

Rashad told his mother that the bus driver admonished him that morning for having his mask resting beneath his nose, after which the boy explained he was out of breath from running to catch the bus. ....

A bus driver in New Orleans is out of a job for making racially insensitive comments to a Black child in Louisiana. WWL-TV reported that Rose Gabriel did not let something her son revealed to her pass by. She informed the school system last week that a George Floyd-related comment was made to her 11-year-old son, Rashad.
According to the news station, Rashad informed Gabriel  that the bus driver, who is white, scolded him after his face mask slipped below the sixth grader’s nose. Rashad reportedly commented that he was out of breath, due to running to catch the bus to Trist Middle School that morning. ....

The comment was reported to the school system last week by Rose Gabriel on behalf of her 11-year-old son, Rashad.
Gabriel said she noticed something was wrong when her son was not his usual carefree and chatty self when she met him April 9 after he got off his school bus. ....
