More than 500 sexual offences against children and teens occur on school premises each year and last year that included more than 100 sexual assaults.
The figures, from the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research, cover public and private schools and involve incidents in which the victim was under 18 and the perpetrator either a peer or an adult.
