A bench led by Justice Joymalya Bagchi posed the question after noting the delay on part of the Chief Secretary of the State in granting sanction to prosecute the public servants booked in the school jobs for cash scam.
The bench has granted time till Tuesday to the Chief Secretary to file a report spelling out the time frame within which he will be deciding on the grant of sanction to prosecute the public servants.
Justice Sinha opined that senior advocate Kishor Datta, who was recently appointed the Advocate General, should not appear for the State in the jobs for cash scam case since he had earlier represented one of the parties.
The Calcutta High Court has agreed to hear a plea alleging that Sujay Krishna Bhadra, an accused in the school jobs for cash scam case, has got himself admitted in a hospital only to stall the ED probe into the scam.
