Country to what gay rights advocates call the latest attack to legalize discriminationment protesters corporations, fellow governors condemning the state s action. connecticut and washington state now banning state-funded travel to indiana. even the indianapolis city council passed a resolution opposing sb-101. [ applause ] fix this law. do so immediately. reporter: opponents kshed there could be a license to deny lgbt individual services including further weddings. the governor s office promising to clarify. i have been up close to discrimination. i don t want that. the governor said he doesn t want that. reporter: governor mike pence wrote, i abhor discrimination. if i saw a restaurant owner refuse to serve a gay couple i wouldn t eat there anymore. he goes on to say rifra only ....
And we re going to correct it and move forward. cnn s miguel marquez is joining us from indianapolis. did governor pence talk about how he s going to make this more acceptable? reporter: that is the million dollar question. legislators are meeting to find out how that fix would look and how to get it procedurally to the governor s desk. it s not exactly easy for them to get the fix to the governor. he said he will not sign any legislation that includes protection for gays and lesbians statewide adding it to their civil rights charter. he s talking about some specific piece of language for the sb 101, the religious freedom act that they have passed here. but they are not specifying what it is wolf. we understand that the arkansas state legislature they passed similar legislation. ....

[ cheers and applause ] crowds here cheering when the indianapolis city council passed a resolution opposing the religious freedom restoration act. the resolution says the new law is not a true representation of the city as a welcoming and inclusive place. the governor signed the law last week, and the backlash has exploded since then. republican lawmakers in indiana say they will work to clarify the state s new religious freedom law. miguel marquez reports the opposition, though, isn t backing down. [ chanting ] no hate in our state! reporter: protests and anger across indiana. gays and lesbians and their supporters rallying in opposition to s.b. 101, the so-called religious freedom restoration act. i have two kids that could possibly not be served because somebody doesn t believe in me being married to another woman. reporter: the law could be used by businesses to turn gays ....
