would have accepted $1.6 billion. and he was getting so much heat from some of his allies and conservative media over the last few days that sources tell us that white house aides started to reach out urging them to back the president up in supporting this bill. now ultimately, today was really the deciding day for the president. he sat in the oval office with his aides, going over the details of this bill and there was a point during this day when many of his aides believed he might not sign the bill. all the pressure from those conservative allies and the reality frankly that this was not a good deal for him was causing him to want to reject it. but what ended up happening this afternoon, senator mitch mcconnell, the senator majority leader, called the president. they had a conversation about the bill. the result of that conversation was mitch mcconnell going to the floor say iing the president is going to support this and declare a national emergency. mcconnell dropped his oppositio

the taliban have not committed to negotiate directly with the afghan government. this has been a sticking point they ve had and they ve not agree d to an actual cease fire. the basic deal is the taliban say iing we will not allow afgh soil to be used to launch terror attacks on other countries an the u.s. has talkeded about pulling out american troops. this is something the u.s. hadn t agreed to in the past. this is where president trump deserves for for taking a risk. he could be afraid he s going to look weak on terrorism, but he would be willing to pull out troops, but it has to be a solid deal. otherwise if he pulls out too quickly, the taliban will just sort of way him out and not make an agreement and you have chaos there. i think it s the same situation in venezuela. if you know, the opposition is too you know, identified with trump, that just plays into labeling them as american stooges. that will help maduro. this is patience right here. and so slow strategic diplomacy. big

the log jam that s dragged this partial government shutdown on for a month now. the democrats started rejecting the president s proposal before he even announced it. now the president s proposed deal would involve him getting $5.7 billion in funding for his border wall in exchange for a three-year renewal of daca protections for the young undocumented immigrants known as dreamers as well as a three-year extension of temporary protected status for the 300,000 people facing expiration of their tps. house democrats are say iing th won t do any negotiating until the government is reopened and they have their own plan to get the government reopened. they plan to pass a package of six spending bills that will include $1 billion for border security in general. not for the construction of a wall. one thing that democrats in the trump administration seem to agree on, however, both proposals do include money for
