It is “exciting times” for Saugeen Shores as it continues to work on a partnership agreement with the YMCA of Owen Sound for a proposed $29-million Saugeen Shores Family YMCA at the Port Elgin Plex.
A spring 2023 propose construction start was in an update provided to Town of Saugeen Shores committee of the whole members Feb. 22 by Jayne Jagelewski, the Town’s Director of Community Services who said the next steps include developing concept plans, designs, and construction specifications – estimated to cost $2-million. Construction is estimated at $27-million for a total price tag of $29-million.
