Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has announced that a consortium of Saudi Miahona and top Belgian infrastructure group Besix has emerged as the preferred bidder for the Al-Haer ISTP project that boasts a treatment capacity of 200,000 cu m per day.
Saudi Miahona Company said its consortium with the French Saur Group and Manila Water has secured a contract worth SR221 million ($59 million) from National Water Company for the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plants in Eastern Region.
National Water Company CEO Mohammed Bin Ahmed Al-Mowkely said: “One of the most important pillars of the Saudi Vision 2030 is the welfare of citizens and quality of services offered to them, which resulted in preparing the 2030 National Water Strategy.
Manila Water, a wastewater services company, said its consortium with French group Saur and Saudi s Miahona has won the contract for the operations and maintenance of water sector in the eastern cluster. This is its second contract in Saudi Arabia.
The contract was awarded by Saudi Arabia's state-run National Water Company, and covers a population of 5.27 million and a supply demand of about 1,800 million liters of water per day. The area coverage includes the cities of Dammam, Al Hofuf, Al Jubail, Al Khobar, Al Qatif, and Hafar Al Batin.
